The Inn at Little Washington Cardinal’s Nest
The Cardinal’s Nest project involved tripling the size of an original summer kitchen located approximately one block from the famed Inn at Little Washington. The former one-story cottage was expanded and transformed into a two-story guest residence with all the hallmark historical touches consistent with the surrounding properties. The space now includes two spacious bedrooms, two luxurious baths with soaking tubs, butler’s kitchen, private garden, and a cedar hot tub. The vaulted ceiling living room features a dramatic, ancient stone fireplace preserved from the original structure.
From its humble beginnings of a one room, one story structure approximately 500 SF in size, Cardinal’s Nest has been restored and enlarged in the most thoughtful and meticulous manner to maintain its history and setting in Washington VA. Potomac Construction’s tea, and its valued trade contractors worked closely with Chef O’Connell, his team and architect to develop all the necessary details to build this exquisite property.
