Inspired by time spent in Spain’s Basque Country during the formative years of the chef’s career, Bar Spero brings an energetic seafood restaurant with open hearth cooking to Capitol Crossing. The project is located next to Potomac Construction’s completed restaurants Tatte Bakery & Café and L’Ardente.

The bar and restaurant, with seating for 130 inside and 40 outside, is designed with neon accents and rich millwork. A wood-fired grill is visible from the street and is the heart of the space, evoking emotions during the dining experience. The multi-level space is adorned with unique design elements such as leather cladding and polished black concrete, all while infusing whimsy in the areas tucked away for patrons.
